Railway Surveillance through Rugged Ethernet Switches

To enhance transportation security and safety during the 2008 Olympic games, Beijing government installed IP surveillance systems on MTR railcars. There are 6 railcars in a train. Each railcar is installed with IP cameras connected by a Korenix Ethernet switch. All the switches on the train are linked as rings. The network reliability is guaranteed by the Korenix ring technology, RSR. More than 300 pieces of JetNet 4010 have been installed in MTR line 1, 2, 10, and the airport line.
