The JetCard 2215 is designed with 1 internal Fast Ethernet copper port and 4 IEEE 802.3af PoE ports that can deliver 15.4W power per port along with data for driving PoE cameras. All of the 4 PoE ports of JetCard 2215 support 12~24V Booster PoE: by enabling the PoE booster, the card can receive 12~24V power and automatically convert it to 48VDC - a perfect solution for applications which lack standard 48V PoE, such as buses, subways, solar power etc…

Without the driver the JetCard UPCI switch board work as unmanaged switch and can communicate together, but not with the IPC, whereas with the driver the boards work as Network interface cards on your PC, allowing users to configure one more IP address and communicate the devices with the IPC.

Korenix is pleased to announce its JetNet 6710G-RJ / M12 High Power Managed PoE switches now support MSTP network redundancy and Private VLAN/QinQ enhanced security features for providing highest network reliability and secure connection for critical high-end surveillance applications.

The new MSTP technology, in addition to the already supported Korenix patented MSR redundancy ring, is provided in the JetNet 6710G switches to allow users build redundant networks with high reliability and scalability, while ensuring their broader use as they become compatible with 3rd party rackmount switches installed in control rooms.

Furthermore, the newly supported Private VLAN and QinQ features in the switches resolve the VLAN shortage problem and offer easier network VLAN assignment. This also enables administrators to improve communication security in industrial applications.

The JetNet 6710G series are revolutionary High-power PoE plus switches designed with RJ45 (JetNet 6710G-RJ) and M12 (JetNet 6710G-M12) connectors and highly ruggedized hardware parameters that are compliant with the EN50121-4 Railway EMC and IEC61373 Vibration/shock requirements. Korenix releases its JetView easy network management utility with a new user-friendly real-time network interface and multi-language support for making users’ experience through the software easier and more comprehensive. Additionally, the enhanced JetView Pro version is now supported in Korenix’s new managed 8-port Fast Ethernet switches, the JetNet 4508 copper and JetNet 4508f fiber models.

The new network interface of the JetView is designed to provide real-time status of the interface: if any of the network interfaces links up or links down, the network interface status will be updated immediately. This, as a result will enable administrator to find the devices through the specific network interface, and perform easy device configuration.

The enhanced JetView is now also available in dual languages - English and simplified Chinese for users’ convenience and easier integration in different network projects.

JetView is a network management utility designed by Korenix to help administrators to discover the JetNet series Switches. Compared to other management tools, such as Web, CLI, SNMP, the JetView is designed to configure several devices at the same time. Compatible with various operating systems (Windows XP/2000/2003/7/Vista platforms), it supports auto discovery, group IP setting, group firmware upgrade, group bootloader upgrade, and group configuration file backup/restore to make users’ experience easier through the system.
The JetView is supported in all Korenix managed Ethernet and Power over Ethernet switches.

Korenix JetNet 5010G-w gigabit managed switches have been recently integrated in an electrical substation monitoring project in Russia to provide non-stop video transmission from the widely distributed field sites to the control room. Using their exclusive interface design of 7+3G combo ports and the RSR ring redundancy technology, the switches provided connectivity to cameras and assured reliable high-speed video transmission to the remote location without causing data failure or loss. Through their smart firmware functionalities and the ruggedized design with -40~70°C wide operating temperature, the switches resisted the extreme conditions on electrical utilities while providing high performance video surveillance of the field sites.

Surveillance of electrical substation facilities becomes of higher importance today as it enables utility workers to operate more efficiently while remotely monitoring substations for safety and maintenance and helping prevent accidents such as electrocution around electrical facilities and downed power lines. Thus, receiving real-time video of the substation plants’ operation is crucial when designing utility automation system. Substations are widely distributed; therefore extended fiber connectivity is often required to ensure longer distance data transmission. Besides, as the conditions around utilities are unfavorable with temperature variations, high level of electromagnetic radiation, equipment with increased rigidity are required to operate without system failures.

An electrical substation company in Russia, a trustworthy partner of PLC Systems (Korenix’s diamond distributor) chose to use JetNet 5010G series managed gigabit switches for their guaranteed connection reliability, easy maintenance and unique, flexible and cost-saving interface design.

Around 300 JetNet 5010G-w gigabit switches have been installed on sites of substation facilities. Using 7 Fast Ethernet ports the switches connected to video cameras to collect the captured images from a selected field. Using 2 out of 3 Gigabit SFP Combo ports, the switches were able to connect with each other and using the Korenix Rapid Super Ring technology, form redundant Gigabit fiber rings by the connected SFP transceivers. With the RSR technology which provides only 5ms recovery time and seamless restoration, the video streams were transmitted reliably without packet loss, topology change and data transmission latency.

The switches also were noticed for their intelligent firmware capabilities. The LLDP which is integrated in the switch and the Korenix’s JetView Pro software provided users with easy maintenance, as they enabled them to discover and manage all the connected JetNet 5010G-w devices in the network infrastructure automatically from the remote location. Besides, to improve the data transmission performance, the switches also used the QoS for data prioritization, IGMP snooping for one-to-many video transmission, VLAN for video traffic isolation, etc.

Last but not least, the ruggedized enclosure of the JetNet 5010G-w has been another most important factor for the system installing company to choose Korenix. The IP31 grade design as well as -40~70°C operation range provided resistance against vibration, shock and temperature variations ensuring users that they can operate under harshest conditions - something that is typical in substations.

With intelligent firmware and software features and exclusive interface design, the switches became the perfect cost-effective solution for reliable video surveillance of this electrical substation.

Korenix JetNet 5010G heavy industrial Managed Giga switches now support the new MSR Loop Elimination feature, aiming to enhance network maintenance experience of field site engineers and increase system uptime.

By enabling MSR loop protection function, the new feature allows users detecting network status of the forwarding ports. Furthermore, in case of network looping problem, it disables one of the Ring ports within the MSR ring, while ensuring traffic streaming through rest of the ports. As a result, network engineers can benefit from the additional time to check and eliminate problem, without causing any system failure.

In addition to the MSR Loop Elimination feature, Korenix has also released Advanced MSR Warming Messages (Loop Protection and Ring Event messages), as well as Per port RSTP Enable/Disable feature in JetNet 5010G, allowing users to easily figure out Ring and Ring port statuses and fast enable the switches operation.
